Nippon Life Benefits CEO

Katsuhisa (Katz) Kumasako

Chief Executive Officer

Katz joined Nippon Life Insurance Company in 1993. Over his 30-year tenure with the Nippon Life Group, Katz has held various positions in Japan and abroad, primarily in international planning, operations, and business development. His overseas assignments include roles at the New York Representative Office, Nippon Life Benefits in New York, and Reliance Nippon Life Insurance Company Limited in Mumbai, India.

Before becoming President and Chief Executive Officer of Nippon Life Benefits in March 2023, Katz served as General Manager for the Global Insurance Business at Nippon Life Insurance Company in Tokyo. Since March 2025, he has been serving as CEO of Nippon Life Benefits.

Katz holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Waseda University in Japan.

David Acselrod

President & Chief Operating Officer

David joined Nippon Life Benefits in February 2023 and has been serving as President and Chief Operating Officer since March 2025.

With over 30 years of experience in the insurance and financial services industry, David has held leadership roles at Guardian Life, MetLife, Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company, Prudential Financial, and served as Chairman of the Board at MIB.

David holds a Bachelor's degree from Bucknell University and an MBA from Columbia University. He and his family reside in Connecticut.
