Fraud Alert

We recently discovered that someone is posing as a Nippon Life employee transferring from the Nippon Life office in London to New York.  The individual, using various names, is posting on Craig's list to rent an apartment.  The person promises a landlord a Nippon Life check and then requests that any amount over the security deposit be sent to a person he is using for home decorations.

If this offer is made to you or any offer using a Nippon Life check, please do not accept the check  or attempt to deposit the check as it will not be honored.  If you are contacted by someone claiming to have a Nippon Life company check, please contact Mr. Lee Thomas at Nippon Life Insurance Company of America to verify if it is a legitimate company check. You should also report receipt of any fraudulent Nippon Life checks to Consumer Services Division of your local Attorney General Office.
